Mustangs Sweep Season Series from Mavericks

In Goodland Kansas on Saturday the Mustangs hit the road for their 4th road match in 8 days.  The match was a return game between the Mavericks of Northwest Kansas Tech and Western Wyoming Community College.

Much like the first match between the teams the action was very fast and physical.  Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first 45 minutes and the teams went into the break with a 0 - 0 tie.

The Mustang offense kicked it into a new gear during the second half to score twice.  The first goal was scored by Jose Rincon in the 63rd minute with a Landon Jacobsen assist.  The match seemed to get a lot more difficult for WWCC when central defender Jackson Hatch was red carded with 20 minutes to play.  Western continued to play good soccer and added an insurance goal in the 85th minute from Jesse Cardenas from a Riley Gibson assist.  The Mustangs picked up a good road win by a 2 - 0 score.  The win lifts the 2015 Mustang record to 4 - 3 - 2.

Mustang Man of the Match: Mitch Jensen - For getting his first shutout of the season, making a couple of spectacular saves and getting within one more clean sheet of the all time career shutout leader at Western Wyoming.
