The recent Green River High School graduate Tanner Trumble has signed his National Letter of Intent to play men's soccer for the Western Wyoming Community College Mustangs.

Tanner is one of the most talented players in the state of Wyoming, the proof being a three time 4A West All Conference Player and twice being a 4A 1st Team All State Player.

Trumble is also an excellent student earning multiple honors for his academics.  We expect him to continue to work hard on his studies and continue to earn recognition for his hard work.

GRHS head soccer coach Chris Bieber raved about Tanner's leadership, character, feet and ability on the field.  Coach Bieber also could not say anything bad about Tanner as a person or his conduct off of the field.

As a midfielder his senior year Tanner tallied 19 goals, which was 2nd best for 4A players in the state of Wyoming for 2015.  The leading 4A scorer had 20 goals.  Trumble also notched 5 assists during his senior season which was 10th best in 4A for the Cowboy state.  Tanner almost tripled both his goal scoring and assists from his junior year (7 goals and 2 assists in 2014).

One of the amazing things about Tanner's scoring his senior year was that he played a center defensive mid about half of the season.  As the season progressed he was moved to more of a true center midfielder and even to an attacking midfielder.  He scored from scrums in the box, long shots and using his size and aerial ability to head home the ball.  He often was double teamed on set pieces yet he always seemed to win the ball and get an opportunity on frame.

We at Western are so excited to have an excellent player, student and young man join our ranks.  We know that Tanner will do his best to represent himself, his family and the school well.  We see Tanner playing mainly in the midfield in any of our 4 positions.  His size, speed and skill make it possible for him to see time basically anywhere on the field, he would be great as a forward and could even fill in on the back line if called upon to do so.  But the midfield is where we think his talents will shine the best.

Tanner is the younger brother of Tyler Trumble who played for the Mustangs during the 2013 season.  Like his older brother Tanner will wear the #14 for the Red, White and Black.  His parents are Toby and Naomi and they are a great support to their sons but also the team and program.
