Alex Sorenson from LHS to Western Wyoming

Alex Sorenson a recent graduate from Lehi Utah and Lehi High School is set to join the Western Wyoming Community College Men's Soccer team.

Alex was an integral part of the Lehi Pioneer Soccer success the 2015 season.  The LHS boy's soccer team made it to the 5A Utah State Semi-Finals.  In the Semi-Finals Alex and the Pioneers feel 1 - 0 in sudden victory overtime to the eventual champions Alta High.  As a senior Alex was near the top of the scoring column for his LHS team compiling 6 goals in 2015.  His 6 goals were second most on the Lehi team.  Sorenson even scored 2 goals in a playoff win against Viewmont.

As a junior Alex and LHS were not as successful losing in the first round of the 5A playoffs in 2014.  Alex tallied 1 goal during his junior campaign.

Alex will re-unite with several Lehi players at Western; Braden Smith, Riley Gibson and Landon Jacobsen.

We at Western expect Alex to use his skills on the soccer pitch to play in attacking and wide areas.  He has a knack for goal and a great sense on when to attack and when to possess.  We anticipate that bulk of his playing time will be as an outside midfielder but he could also help out as a forward or either center midfielder.

Sorenson will be a great addition to a strong 2015 WWCC team both on and off the field.  Alex brings a strong work ethic to the pitch and in the classroom.  He should fit in nicely with the Mustangs.  Congrats on opportunity to continue to play the game that you love.
