Josh Rawson, a recent 2015 Rock Springs High School graduate from Rock Springs WY has committed to play soccer for the Western Wyoming Community College Mustangs.

Josh was a captain and a starter for the Rock Springs Tigers for this past season.  Josh was a 1st Team 4A West All-Region Player and was also a 1st 4A All-State Player.  Josh had 1 assist for the Tigers his senior season.

As a high school player Josh helped the Tiger to qualify for the 4A Wyoming State Tournament all 4 years while he was in high school.  As a senior Rawson and the Tigers pulled an upset at the 4A Wyoming Soccer Tournament beating the #1 East Seed Campbell County High in the quarterfinals.  The RSHS soccer team were the only 4A West team, boys or girls, to win a match against an Eastern team this year at the state tournament.

Rawson is a wonderful student and hopes to continue his academic success while playing soccer for the Mustangs and upholding the strong WWCC student athlete tradition.

Along with being a stellar soccer player and student Josh was also a member of the RSHS Tennis Team - playing #1 Doubles his senior year and an Indoor Track athlete.  As part of the RSHS Indoor Track Team Rawson was a member of the 4x400 Meter Relay 2015 State Champions.

Josh usually played as a center back and a sweeper in high school.  His height and speed help him in this position.  Rawson may also be called upon by the Mustangs to play as an outside back or even as a forward during the 2015-2016 season.

Mr. Rawson plans to study Elementary Education and hopes to coach in the future.  Josh also plans to serve an LDS mission before he plays his second year for Western.  Congrats on a great prep career and the chance to continue to learn and excel as a student athlete.
