On Saturday in Rosemount MN the #11 Dakota County Technical College Blue Knights hosted the Mustangs of Western Wyoming in a rematch of a great match from the 2013 season.
The first half was controlled by the Mustangs who possessed the ball more and created more chances.  However, the Blue Knights scored on their first and only good chance in the first half in the 6th minute.  The ball was switched from the far side of the field to the near side and the DCTC player beat the WWCC keeper Austin Pinter to the near post.  The Mustangs created chances before the DCTC goal and after, the chances were taken by Carsen Tinker, Andrew Newbold, Brock Mosier, Riley Gibson and Taylor Flitton.  The half time score was 1 - 0 in favor of Dakota County.
The second half was very different from the first half for the Mustangs.  The Blue Knights took better care of the ball and kept it away from the Mustangs much of the second half.  Not too chances were created for the Mustangs or the Blue Knights.  One of the few chances that DCTC created resulted in a goal in the 56th minute.  The tired legs of the Mustangs, after three games in three days, made it difficult for the Mustangs to mount any attempt at a comeback.  They final score of the match was 2 - 0 in favor of Dakota County Tech.  The regular season record of the Mustangs fell to 1 - 1 - 0.  Dakota County is a quality opponent as they are currently ranked #11 in the latest NJCAA poll.

Mustang Man of the Match - Colton Cottrell - Colton played a full 90 minutes.  Cottrell played well, organized his defense and communicated well with his teammates on the field.
