Riley Gibson Added to the 2014 Mustang Squad

Riley Gibson has officially signed to be a member of the 2014 Western Wyoming Mustang Soccer team.  Riley hails from Lehi Utah where he prepped at Lehi High School.  Riley was a member of the LHS soccer team when they won the Utah 4A state in 2010, also a member of the LHS soccer team when they were Region 7 champs in 2010 and 2011.

Riley is a versatile player who did not give up on his dream of playing college soccer and advancing his education.  Riley has a big frame but possesses awesome touch and skills.  Riley will most likely play either a center back for the Mustangs as his 6'2" frame is ideal for the position along with a wealth of soccer experience help out at the center of the defense.

The other position that we feel that Riley will help out and benefit the Mustang team is as a forward.  Gibson came to the WWCC campus and auditioned for the squad in the spring.  We were impressed with his ability as a forward.  He can play with his back to the goal, help control the flow of the match and still advance the ball towards the opposition's goal.  He plays simply and fast.  He uses his teammates and has an accurate shot on frame.

We are excited to have such a great player and mature person to join our ranks and know that Gibson will do his best to help out the 2014 Mustang squad whether it be as a forward or a center back.  We know that Riley will do great for us this season both on and off of the pitch.  Congratulations Riley on working hard to reach your goal of playing collegiate soccer.
